The e3V team includes Ayesha Grewal, Dr. John E.H. Ryan, and Prakash Joshi.

Ayesha Grewal, Co-founder and Managing Director: Ms. Grewal manages e3V's day-to-day operations in India. She leads the firm's work and investments in the development of micro-hydro based energy generation options on organic tea gardens' in Darjeeling, West Bengal and also manages the development of financial structures for the firm's consulting work with and investments in sustainable rural energy services, eco-tourism, and organic agriculture ventures in China and Brazil. Ms. Grewal is an active participant in the firm's investments in organic fruit processing operations in Kumaon and co-founded the organic agriculture processing firm, Kurmanchal Organic Ventures. Ms. Grewal managed the e3V's Himalayan Rural Lighting Initiative, where she worked in partnership with a set of rural cooperatives and farmers' federations in Uttarakhand to build their capacity to intermediate funds and provide loans to members to support the purchase of renewable energy systems.

Prior to setting-up
e3V, Ms. Grewal served as the Program Officer for Finance for Winrock International India where she participated in the design of and managed the USAID-sponsored Accelerated Renewable Energy Commercialization Program (ARECOMM) and the ARECOMM debt facility that provided long-term, low-cost loans, and enterprise incubation services for ventures harnessing renewable energy for productive use applications in rural India. While with Winrock, Ms. Grewal also co-managed the USAID-sponsored Solar Finance Capacity Building Initiative, a project that built the capacity of banks and microfinance institutions to include loans for solar lighting products into their existing portfolios. She co-designed and at the field level led the execution of training for over 1,000 bank officers in over 37 banks in southern India. Earlier, Ms. Grewal worked in litigation-related consulting in the U.S. securities industry with National Economic Research Associates in New York. Ms. Grewal holds a BA in economics from Franklin and Marshall College and an MA in development finance and economics from the Graduate School of International Studies at the University of Denver.

Dr. John E.H. Ryan, Senior Advisor: John is currently a Director of GEI-Americas (www.geiamericas.org) based in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, USA. As a Senior Advisor to e3V John brings to the Company over 20 years’ of experience working on the start-up phase of cottage-scale sustainable rural ventures (SRVs) in low income rural regions. John has hands-on experience in incubating, structuring, incorporating, financing, and/or managing cottage-scale SRVs in rural Brazil, Central America, China, Eastern Caribbean, India, Nepal, the Pacific Islands, and Peru.
