e3V is currently working in partnership with the Blue Moon Fund, the City of Milan, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the Government of the United Kingdom, the LaGuardia Foundation, and the Energy and Security Group on the Himalayan Financing Facility (HFF). e3V is managing the HFF which services the micro-scale renewable energy-related investment needs of organic agriculture operations and rural community groups in the Himalayan regions of India by offering incubation services, a guarantee facility, and carbon emission reduction credit structuring program.

 

HFF is a PREP-ASSIST Partner Facility and the e3V team works closely with other PREP-ASSIST Partner Facilities on designing modalities to meet of renewable energy ventures in Brazil and China.

 

Under the auspices of HFF, e3V is also executing the Himalayan Rural Lighting Initiative (HRLI) in the state of Uttaranchal in partnership with the Central Himalayan Rural Action Group. HRLI combines the delivery of HFF services with strengthening farmers cooperative and self help groups to provide market-oriented financing for the purchase of solar lanterns in the Kumaon region.

 

The partners and the professional staff with e3V bring over 50 years of experience in delivering access to environmentally sound energy solution in rural regions of Asia.

 

The team's experience base in India includes structuring and managing small seed capital facilities, assessment of investment programs to finance distributed generation, training over 1,000 officers of rurally located banks and micro credit institutions in methodologies for lending for renewable energy systems, helping entrepreneurs prepare business plans and source financing, developing a renewable energy for productive use program for the United Nations Foundation, and crafting a Mauritius-based private equity fund for investments in renewable energy enterprises. Team members also participated in the design of the Clean Energy and Infrastructure Development Bank in Nepal, conducted training programs in Sri Lanka, and are working with local micro and small enterprises, cooperatives, municipalities, and NGOs on developing environmentally sound projects that service the energy needs of rural communities in Asia.
